Chiropractic is a complementary and alternative medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly those related to the spine. Chiropractic care has been found to be effective in reducing pain, improving range of motion, and enhancing overall well-being. Here are some of the benefits of chiropractic:
Overall, chiropractic care offers a natural, non-invasive approach to pain relief and overall wellness.
While chiropractic treatment primarily targets the spine, it can also have an impact on the brain.
Research has shown that chiropractic adjustments can stimulate the nervous system, including the brain. When the spine is misaligned, it can cause interference with the nervous system, which can lead to a variety of health problems. Chiropractic adjustments aim to realign the spine, which can help to remove this interference and restore proper function to the nervous system.
Studies have also suggested that chiropractic adjustments can have a positive impact on brain function. For example, a study published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found that chiropractic adjustments improved brain function in patients with chronic neck pain.
Another study published in the Journal of Neural Plasticity found that chiropractic adjustments increased brain activity in the prefrontal cortex, which is the part of the brain responsible for executive functions such as decision-making and attention.
Dr. Elam provides multiple styles of adjustments depending on the outcome desired and patient preference. He specializes in Gonstead, Diversified, Activator Technique, TRT and is Webster Technique certified.
As a chiropractor, I understand that my patients come to me seeking relief from pain and discomfort. But for me, it's not just about providing quick fixes or temporary solutions. I genuinely care about the wellbeing of my patients and want to help them achieve long-term health and wellness.
I take the time to listen to my patients' concerns, understand their medical history, and develop personalized treatment plans that address their specific needs. I believe that a holistic approach to healthcare is essential, which is why I work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for my patients.
My goal as a chiropractor is not only to alleviate pain but also to improve the overall quality of life for my patients. I want them to feel empowered to take control of their health and make positive lifestyle changes that will benefit them for years to come.
In short, I am a chiropractor who cares deeply about my patients and is committed to providing the highest quality of care possible.

Dr. Elam was born in Tennessee and grew up with chiropractors in his family but chiropractic was not his first career. He pursued a career in the golf industry after college and was a golf professional in Nashville for six years but did not get the enjoyment out of it he felt he should. So at the urging of a member he quit the golf business and went back to school at Logan University in St. Louis where he obtained his Doctorate of Chiropractic. After graduating he moved to Montana and practiced before missing friends and family in the south. He then worked for one of the top chiropractors in Georgia before deciding to open Big Pink.
When not at the office he enjoys golf and spending time with his fiancé and their four wonderfully weird dogs. They can be found hiking and camping with the dogs. Dr Elam is excited to be in Brevard and to bring unadulterated chiropractic and brain based adjusting to the area.
